Indulge me
I keep hearing there is more to mommy blogs than poopy diapers, snotty noses and tired whining. And you know what... it's giving me and my blog a bit of an inferiority complex.
So what if all I write about are crafts and sleepless nights and what my children are doing this week? Does that make my blog worth less?
It doesn't, I know that. But I can't help but want to be reassured that what I have to say has value. And I wish I could say I didn't care what others think because this blog is for me... But I do care.
I have, hopefully noticeably to some of you out there, been making a bigger effort to blog... To talk about the things I do and the things I think my community (mothers of young children) would be interested in. I know that I want to hear what you guys are doing to make it through the days: where you're going, what you're eating (and what and how your kids are eating) and how you keep the kids entertained. And I never think that that is all that you are or will ever be. And it really bothers me that people use this kind of a blog as a joke.
So, indulge me if you please. Let me know if you're out there, if you care, and if my efforts are worth the time... because I really don't want to feel like just another mommy blogger people like to poke fun at. I think we're all worth a lot more than that.
And now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to wipe some dirty bums, some snotty noses and drink some coffee (because man, am I tired!)

Blogs about mothering ARE worthy. DO have value. I find it irritating when other people consider themselves "above" the so-called "mommybloggers."
You know I live for new blog posts from both you and Eric. Please keep it up! :)
Your blog totally has value! I like to think that "moomybloggers" are keepimg it real by blogging about everyday life. The stuff that other people don't notice but are the stuff that keep us all going.
Keep writing!
I'm here, I'm listening, and I care about bums and noses! :)
I'm reading too! I think mommy blogs are important to keep people from feeling isolated an alone. Having someone to listen and share with is so important! I think modern mothers are lucky to have a connection so that they know they aren't the only ones who deal with frustrations and hardships. Plus, even those of us without kids are interested too! ;)
Keep writing, keep sharing, keep reminding me that I'm not alone.
I love your blog and check for new posts daily! Keep it up! I find a nugget in read. And usually talk to you about it in some way. Keep it up!
I agree with Shona. Mommy blogs definitely help us know that we aren't alone. Obviously there is a need to have a community of women who are experiencing similar things. We no longer live in a time when you could get together with the moms across the street to chat while your kids played outside. We need a place to talk about mothering - the good and the bad. So keep writing!
I think Mom blogs are important, not only for those of us in the thick of it, but for our friends who don't have kids yet who are following along - I think the media and Hollywood portray new motherhood as all cupcakes and snuggles, when we ALL know it's not that at all - I think providing a real life look at this thing we do is important for everyone! Keep writing, we'll keep reading!
I rely on your blog to keep up with you so please don't change a thing!! :)
Any honest writing is good writing, in my book. I have an insane number of blogs in my reader, but yours is one of the only ones I actually read consistently (shh, don't tell the others!)
Your blog makes me laugh, your blog makes me feel like I'm hanging out with a friend.
And I would've said all this, even if you hadn't of asked for comments!
That's how I keep up with you. Keep writing!
Add me to the list of those reading, and caring :)
I love reading your blog. I love hearing about life with three children. I love hearing about your life with twins. I love knowing that I am not alone and appreciate your honesty about children. So please, keep writing for all of us who are reading and love it.
I find it absurd that there are critics out there critiquing bloggers. I thought a blog was a virtual journal. I've never heard of book reviewers going into people's homes to read their diaries and leave scathing reviews of them. It's ridiculous.
I read your blog because I enjoy reading about what you are up to and what's on your mind. I think you should continue writing your blog the way you are, and posting whatever it is that YOU want to be posting.
